Now, while getting ready to write this, I know I will never be able to cover every trucking myth. I will, however, try to get as many as possible.

Myth: all trucking companies are the same.
Truth: although the big companies have several similarities. With that being said, NO truck companies are the same!

Myth: we should go to a minimal HOURLY pay
Fact: with loading and unloading, most drivers average $16-18 hour. If you aren't making a decent wage, may be at the wrong company

Myth: trucking is a job
Fact: trucking is a LIFESTYLE. Paychecks (unless on a dedicated route) are never exactly the same, you will lose out on raising your children, your mistress/mister is the road. You need to have a love for it

Myth: CSA is a bad thing
Fact: the same policing that all in the industry should've been doing for years is being done by the government. The guys that have had 3 rollovers in 2 years will be off the roads. How is that a bad thing?

Myth: BMI and sleep apnea are part of CSA
Fact: no they aren't.

Myth: all truckers from certain companies (Swift, USA Truck, USX, JB Hunt, etc) are bad
Fact: false! I have a lot from these companies that I would trust running with us everyday. Big companies have the most idiotic drivers, but also have the most safe drivers.

Myth: truck drivers are uneducated, fat, lazy slobs
Fact: drivers are anything from the uneducated to lawyers, brain surgeons, and astronauts. I know a lot of thin drivers. This is how the people stereotypes you! If you need to get healthy, DO IT!

Myth: truckers are womanizing male whores
Fact: although there are some like that, most are dedicated family men who would do nothing to hurt their families! KUDOS

That's all I can think of while stressed and tired. Give me myths and I'll do a part 2.
